Sarah is a photojournalist and film director focusing on stories that encompass social and economic inequality, in particular accessibility advocacy for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

Growing up with an older Deaf brother, she became bilingual in American Sign Language (ASL) and English balancing Deaf culture and the hearing world. From her own lived experiences, she is driven to make work that explores a more nuanced approach to visualizing and documenting the lives of Deaf and their fight for communication accessibility.

She specializes in environmental portraiture allowing the connection she has with her subjects to drive her work. When not working on documentary projects, she can be found in a photo studio experimenting with creative lighting or in a garden.

She is a member of WPOW, Women Photojournalists of Washington, American Photographic Artists (APA - DC) and ASMP New England.

Bilingual: English / ASL (American Sign Language)
